Mika Rod, DOTW for 2/11-2/15!

Mika Rod is the DOTW for the week of 2/11-2/15! Mika is a 5 year-old chocolate Lab who's been coming to Dog Days since early 2010. Mika used to come with her brother, Cocoa, but he passed away, so now she comes on her own. Mika loves loves loves to play ball and tug o' war, especially with the people. Her tug o' war growl is very deep and low, and she sounds like a real tough girl. But she's not, she's a big marshmallow of a dog. But we pretend she's intimidating. She loves to have her belly rubbed too, and is quite vocal then as well. Actually, Mika has a lot to say. :) We always enjoy Mika's visits, and are happy we get to see her so regularly. Congratulations, Mika!

Tia Merrill, DOTW for 2/4-2/8!

Tia Merrill is the DOTW for the week of 2/4-2/8! Tia is a very special girl. Tia is an 11 year old blind miniature chocolate poodle. Tia has been coming to Dog Days since late 2008 for grooming, and started joining us in the daycare area in 2011. For a little old blind lady, Tia gets around just fine. She bounces around the perimeter of the play area until she's figured out where everything is, then settles down. The other dogs always treat her with respect and move out of her way when she accidentally bumps into them. She is THE best lap dog at Dog Days, period. Because she is such a special, sweet girl, she gets spoiled rotten when she's here, and gets lots of snuggle and cuddle time. We love our Tia, and are happy to make her DOTW this week. Congratulations, little lady!

Portia Haines, DOTW for 1/28-2/1!

Portia Haines is the DOTW for the week of 1/28-2/1! Portia is a 4 year old Border Collie mix who's been coming to Dog Days since mid-2009. Portia is really sweet and playful and is a slender little thing, and therefore tends to avoid the really rough and tumble play from some of the bigger dogs. She's more inclined to play with the gentle players, so she gets along well with Leeloo, Daisy and Murphy (who occasionally flirts with her). She always loves some good human attention too. We always enjoy Portia's visits with us, and are happy to make her the DOTW this week! Congratulations, Portia! Murphy says woo woo!

Kota Hamm, DOTW for 1/21-1/25!

Kota Hamm is the DOTW for the week of 1/21-1/25! Kota is a 3.5 year old Jack Russell Terrier who has been coming regularly to Dog Days since mid-2010. Kota is a very sweet girl and really loves her people. She also loves to play ball and will chase it and bring it back...well...forever. As long as you keep throwing it, she'll keep retrieving it. She likes to snuggle as well, and will cuddle with you if you let her. We always enjoy Kota when she visits with us, and are happy her mom entrusts us with her care. Congratulations, little lady!

Riley Stathopoulos, DOTW for 1/14-1/18!

Riley Stathopoulos is the DOTW for the week of 1/14-1/18! Riley is an almost 11 year old Lab who's been coming to Dog Days for years, since mid-2006. Riley is super sweet, and really prefers her people over dogs. She and Joyce's Emma got along great - they'd just hang out together in the play area, and watch all the antics of the crazies. Riley likes to play ball, although as she's gotten older, she's slowed a little by some arthritis. But she still gets in there and barks with the rest of them. Riley also still gets really excited about eating, like any good Lab should. :) We love when she comes to visit with us, and are happy to make her the DOTW this week. Congrats, Riley!

Daisy Ilari, DOTW for 1/7-1/11!

Daisy Ilari is the DOTW for the week of 1/7-1/11! Daisy is an 11-ish year old beagle who's been coming to Dog Days for a very long time, since early 2005. Daisy has always been a bit of a shy girl, and prefers to watch the rest of the little ones play. She loves her people the best, and always gets lots of attention when she's here. We use her for interviews often, because she's one of those stable older females who gets along with just about everybody, and isn't terribly pushy. We love our Daisy, and are happy to make her the DOTW this week. Congratulations, Daisy!

Bailey Loser, DOTW for 12/31-1/4!

Bailey Loser is the DOTW for the week of 12/31-1/4! Bailey is a 10-year old black Lab who's been coming to Dog Days since mid-2006, although Joyce has known Bailey for longer than that (and has seen her grow up). Bailey is a very sweet, shy girl who loves her people the best. Her "play" is awfully cute - she sits in front of her chosen playmate (who's usually laying down) and gently lifts her paw toward them, as if she's offering her hand..."Hello, my name is Bailey, would you like to play with me?" She is a gentle soul, and she gets lots of special attention whenever she's here with us. She's got a bit more gray in her face than when we first met her, but she's still the same sweet Bailey and is aging gracefully. Congratulations, Bailey, we love you sweetie!
